"God Defend New Zealand" è dal 1977 l'inno nazionale della Nuova Zelanda, insieme a "God save the King", che era il solo inno fino a quella data. Esiste anche la versione in lingua maori, intitolata "Aotearoa", che in italiano significa "La terra dalle lunghe nuvole bianche". Vengono normalmente cantate le prime due strofe in maori e quindi le prime due strofe in inglese. La musica è opera dell'insegnente e compositore neozelandese John Joseph Woods, che la compose nel 1876 su testo scritto intorno al1870 da Thomas Bracken.
